A two-card hand of 8 is called a "natural." It can be beaten only by a two-card hand of nine, also called a "natural", which is unbeatable like a blackjack in... blackjack. If either player is dealt a natural hand, all play stops, no additional cards are dealt, and that player is declared the winner.
